Summer Spark A Success

“Summer Spark”, an arts appreciation event thrown on August 10th, was a huge success thanks to great volunteers putting a lot of time and effort into the Burner-esque affair. Donned in their playa-best, artists showcased their pieces and wares, theme camps provided activities, flow and fire performers entertained, and DJs and bands kept the vibe going during the day and well into the evening.

The event was also profitable, helping Sacramento Valley Spark raise funds for future art-related activities in Sacramento.
Benjamin Bradley was the event lead, and managed many team leads to make the event happen, including Greeters, Event Guardians, LNT teams and more.

“There was something unique in beginning to gather a eclectic collection of artists, performers and all burners alike for this years ‘Summer Spark’ said Bradley. “We were able to establish new partnerships within the city and other local community groups, demonstrate the 10 principles while allowing space for human expression in burner fashion. This was a tipping point in reaching a new community and showing you don’t need to be on playa to ‘burn’.”

The success has led to SVS making plans for a 2020 Summer Spark event with more art and greater reach as the organization strives to reach out and unite even more of the community. Stay tuned at our Facebook page HERE.
