Following up the first round of art grants offered by Sacramento Valley Spark in 2015, SVS launched its second round of art grants in 2018.
That program awarded more than $5,000 to 11 community artists. Resulting projects include a steambath, rabbit ears, LED butterfly wings, an art car and more.
This program was developed in line with the SVS mission – to promote the arts, self-expression, and enact positive social change in our community.
Recipients included Jana Mckinny for her project: Steamylicious (pictured below). The mobile sauna was enjoyed at the Pagan Bunny Burn in March and again recently at “Elsewhence” in the Rocky Mountains. She hopes to bring the experience to future events.
